Calix is Latin for Chalice
Calix is a society of Catholic Alcoholics who are maintaining their sobriety via an affiliation with and participation in Alcoholics Anonymous. We are on a path to deepen our spirituality by using the rich heritage of the Catholic Church, including attendance at Mass, reception of the Sacraments, retreats and fellowship with each other under the direction of recovering, ordained priests. Our group in York consists of Catholic alcoholics and addicts, and their loved ones.
We meet at 8:30 AM on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month at St Patrick's Church, 231 S Beaver Street in York, Pa.
On the 2nd Saturday, we meet for a private Mass followed by a spiritually based topic discussion.
On the 4th Saturday, we meet for a prayer service followed by a meeting based on the Spiritual Exercises of St Ignatius integrated with the 12 Steps.
